Professional Development
Foundations of University Learning and Teaching (FULT)
FULT is a program of professional development workshops and activities designed for new teaching staff at CSU. The program has been planned to help participants develop their organisational know-how and their learning and teaching know-how as the basis for more effective teaching. Even if you have come to CSU from another university there will be things that FULT can do for you – like introduce you to the systems and culture of CSU and become familiar with its learning and teaching practices.
FULT is offered in four blocks. You choose between attending live workshops or completing one or more blocks online. Further information can be found on the Learning and Teaching Website.
EEL409 University Learning and Teaching
From Spring 2009, EEL409 University Learning and Teaching replaces the Tertiary Teaching Colloquium as the capstone to your probationary induction into learning and teaching at CSU.
Probationary staff typically complete FULT in their first session and EEL409 in their second session. EEL409 is the introductory subject in the 3303UL Graduate Certificate in University Learning and Teaching, and staff are offered incentives, but are not compelled, to complete that course. EEL409 combines work-based learning, e-learning and the insights developed within a community of practice that meets face-to-face and also engages in networked learning over a single session.
CSU staff who enrol in the program either for probation (academic staff) or professional development (divisional staff) also attend two one day intensives in July and November at either Bathurst or Wagga campuses. Travel and accommodation costs will be covered for staff enrolling for probationary purposes. Divisional staff will need to negotiate the cost of attending cover any travel/accommodation expenses.
Further information can be found on the Learning and Teaching Website.
