Bio

Throughout her career Catherine has been involved in the design of systems and learning environments, first in business and then in education. She came to teaching from business as a result of travelling and her interest in language and communication. Catherine began designing and teaching educational courses at TAFE before coming to CSU’s English Language Centre, Bathurst in 1993 where she designed and taught a range of secondary and tertiary preparation programs and short courses, including the Study Skills for University Success (SSUS) program run on the Bathurst campus.

Catherine moved into the role of educational designer in 1997 and is currently Educational Designer for the School of Teacher Education. Research into reflective learning has had a strong impact on her educational philosophy and her approach to learning and teaching. The reflective learning model underlies her approach to educational design, staff development and the management of teaching and learning issues within the School and the University.
