Bio
Janet is the LTS Manager Faculty Educational Design and Media Team for the faculty of Education. She is also the educational technologist based in Albury. As educational technologist she is involved in exploring and implementing new technologies and assisting staff to effectively use these in creating learning experiences for students.
Her interests and duties are many and varied. Janet was born and educated in Zimbabwe and her teaching experience and tertiary education spans South Africa (B.Sc., Dip. Ed. – University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg) and Australia (M.Ed. Open & Distance Learning, USQ). She comes from a high school and TAFE teaching background into educational design and technology at CSU.
Her research interests include online assessment, blended learning, sustainability education and the management of our rapidly changing (online) learning environment and she has published widely in these areas.
This varied and cross-disciplinary background has provided a broad background that Janet is pursuing in her current research. Janet’s Ph.D. research looks at developing a practical and integrated management and support approach to our learning environment as a whole, which is flexible enough to absorb the rapid changes in the area of technology enhanced learning, and also the changes within the higher education sector itself.
