The mission of the Faculty of Arts is:
- to provide maximum opportunities for learning;
- to provide courses with strong professional and disciplinary and inter-disciplinary bases;
- to provide opportunities for learning which will enable graduates to develop a commitment to lifelong learning and excellence in scholarship and to participate fully in their professions;
- to undertake high quality research;
- to enhance the social and cultural life of the communities served by the University.
