About The School
The Charles Sturt University School of Theology has established a reputation for high quality education. Over 400 students are enrolled at University Certificate, Bachelor, Masters and Doctoral levels, studying on our two dedicated campuses and throughout the world by distance education.
Since entering into a partnership with St Mark’s National Theological Centre in Canberra in 1995, CSU has quickly grown to provide excellent resources, including St Mark’s National Anglican Memorial Library and its distance education services.
In 1999 the United Theological College in Sydney joined the School, providing a Sydney base for teaching and supervision of research.
Some students are studying for full-time ministry while the majority seeks greater understanding of faith and practice. By combining undergraduate and postgraduate education alongside opportunities for exploration of Christian vocation and ministry, the CSU School of Theology is unique within Australia.
The School's ethos is ecumenical, with Faculty staff being drawn from a variety of Christian traditions. It has developed a rigorous research focus in association with the Public and Contextual Theology Strategic Research Centre and is committed to fostering a scholarly theological community that engages with contemporary society.
