Accounting and Law Research Forum

The Accounting and Law Research Forum is responsible for the conduct of the research paper presentation series of the School of Accounting.

Forum Objectives

The main aims of the Forum are to provide an arena for the presentation of research papers related to the disciplines of accounting and/or law, and to strive to disseminate and publicise the results of research for the benefit of the accounting and legal professions and the wider academic and non-academic communities. Specifically, the Forum provides opportunities for researchers to:

The Forum features research paper presentations from staff of the School of Accounting as well as from visiting academics, researchers and practitioners. The Forum encourages the participation and attendance at research paper presentations of individuals from:

Criteria for Forum Papers and Presentations

Papers acceptable for presentation will be potentially publishable, but as yet unpublished papers, which are the result of original pure, applied, or action research. A limited number of research 'ideas' or proposal papers can also be accepted for presentation, as can conceptual and review papers. Both analytical and empirical papers will reflect sound methodology.

Forum Management

The Forum is comprised of all members of the academic staff of the School of Accounting, is managed by the Convenor, and meets regularly for research paper presentations. Specific arrangements concerning forums vary, although the following general guidelines are indicative:
