Brief Biography

Ross has 34 years in Australian tertiary education with a particular emphasis on teaching/learning and academic administration and management. Joined the School of Accounting and Computer Science within CSU’s Faculty of Commerce in mid 2005 following the Orange campus of The University of Sydney becoming a CSU operation. Employed in the Faculty of Rural Management, The University of Sydney from 1981 through to mid 2005 and whilst in this Faculty held senior academic positions including Pro Dean, Acting Dean, and Head of Undergraduate Studies and Academic Staff.

Research Focus

Current research activity is associated with financial performance indicators and benchmarking practices in Australian agriculture.

Teaching Responsibilities

Primary area of teaching expertise is in accounting and financial management with an emphasis on rural and agribusiness financial management. Within the accounting and financial management area, a particular expertise is held in rural financial accounting. Teaching has been at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and has been in formal accredited undergraduate and postgraduate courses as well as in industry professional development courses.

Teaching areas during academic career have included financial accounting, management accounting, finance, business management,introductory micro-economics, agricultural economics, marketing, introductory statistics, and farm management.
